Artisan Cheese Marketing Cheese Education Guild Announcement
Marla Krisko and Lisa McAlpine are proud to announce the purchase of Artisan Cheese Marketing and the Cheese Education Guild from founder, Kathy Guidi. Established in 2005, the Guild has trained hundreds of cheese lovers, ranging from enthusiasts to food and wine professionals, and has played a significant role in encouraging the production and distribution of artisanal cheese across Canada. Marla and Lisa are both graduates of the 75 hour program and intend to build on the classes and cheese marketing business established by Kathy in 2005.
Kathy Guidi, an innovator in cheese marketing across North America says “It has been a lifelong dream of mine to inspire others through teaching and then to pass the torch on, so to speak, to graduates of Cheese Education Guild.”
The sale of the school and marketing business was completed on Friday, March 2, 2012. Classes will resume in May 2012. Lisa and Marla are excited by the prospect of building on Kathy’s legacy and teaching a new generation of cheese lovers.

Artisan Cheese Marketing (ACM) is a unique cheese school company. The goal of ACM is to expand appreciation and product awareness of fine cheese by offering cheese school classes and tasting events for consumers, retail and fine dining trade, culinary schools and the media.
A key focus of ACM is the Cheese Education Guild (CEG), Canada’s first cheese appreciation school. Throughout the study program, CEG students explore and compare hundreds of cheeses. CEG graduates are the cream of the crop, the sommeliers of cheese if you will. Since 2005, this 3 course, 72-hour certificate program has raised the level of cheese knowledge and inspired fine cheese awareness among food professionals and caseophiles (cheese lovers) alike. Successful completion of each 24-hour course results in a Certificate of Achievement and an invitation to continue networking and learning through the Cheese Education Guild Caseophile Club.
Cheese Education Guild courses are designed to meet the needs of fine dining and wine professionals, sales and retail professionals, cheese makers and cheese marketers as well as caseophile enthusiasts.
In addition to the certificate cheese training program offered through the CEG, Artisan Cheese Marketing also offers customized group workshops, perfect for staff training, team building, sales meetings, client appreciation events or fundraisers.
